With a growing number of cities in Northern California offering rebates to tear out lawns, sod farmers appear to be the new focus of so-called drought shaming.
STOCKTON (CBS13) — A Delta sod farmer knew the predictions were bad for California. He’s seen less rain each year. Ed Zuckerman, who comes from a family of farmers, wanted to stay in business, so for the last two years, Zuckerman watched grass grow.
McDONALD ISLAND — They’re famous for asparagus and potatoes on this central Delta island, where the Zuckerman family has farmed for four generations.
